  • Every detail is thoughtfully illustrated – from the silhouette to the embellishments.
  • Design elements like lace placement, neckline, back design, and train are defined.
  • You review the sketch and provide feedback for any refinements.

This sketch is the blueprint of your dress – the first step toward creating something uniquely yours.

4

  • Explore a variety of fabrics and lace options.
  • Feel the textures, check the drape, and see how each fabric complements your design.
  • Select lining, underlayers, and trims to ensure comfort, structure, and the perfect finish.
  • Your designer helps you choose the best combinations for a stunning and cohesive look.

The right fabrics bring your sketch to life with beauty, movement, and elegance.

  • Your measurements are taken with precision.
  • A custom pattern is drafted to match your unique silhouette and design.
  • The pattern is carefully reviewed and adjusted for balance and proportion.
  • This pattern becomes the blueprint for your one-of-a-kind dress.

Every great dress begins with a pattern made just for you.

6

Can I combine details from several wedding dresses?

Absolutely. You can select the neckline from one dress, sleeves from another, skirt shape from another, and add your own details. We will help combine the elements into a cohesive design.

Can you customize the neckline?

Yes. Necklines can be customized, including sweetheart, straight, V-neck, square, bateau/boatneck, off-the-shoulder, high neck, and other styles.

Can I change the sleeves?

Yes. Sleeves can be made long, short, fitted, puffed, detachable, transparent, or fully lined. Sleeve length, width, cuff style, and fabric can also be customized.

Can I change the skirt style?

Yes. We can customize the skirt to be fitted, A-line, ballgown, mermaid, trumpet, flowy, pleated, gathered, or another style. The amount of volume can also be adjusted.

Can you make a basque waist?

Yes. A basque waist can be incorporated into the design, including a subtle or more sharply angled basque waist.

Can I add a train?

Yes. We can create a train in different lengths and shapes. A train can also be designed as removable, allowing you to have a dramatic ceremony look and a more practical reception look.

Can I add buttons down the back?

Yes. Decorative or functional buttons can be added from the back neckline down toward the hem, depending on the construction of the dress.

Can I add lace appliqués?

Yes. Lace appliqués can be strategically placed on the bodice, skirt, sleeves, train, or other areas. We can create a sparse, delicate look or a more elaborate design.

Can I change the color of the dress?

Yes. Depending on the fabric, the dress can be customized in traditional bridal white, ivory, champagne, blush, or other requested colors.

Can I request a completely unique design?

Yes. A custom-made dress can be created from the beginning based on your preferred silhouette, fabric, neckline, sleeves, waistline, embellishments, and train.

Can I have detachable sleeves or a detachable train?

Yes. Detachable elements are a popular option for creating two different looks. Sleeves, overskirts, trains, bows, and other elements can potentially be designed to be removable.

Yes. Custom dresses are made according to your measurements. If you are outside of Ottawa area, we will provide detailed instructions on how to measure yourself accurately. If you are in Ottawa, we take measurements in the store.

What measurements do you need?

Depending on the design, we may require bust, waist, hips, shoulder-to-waist, waist-to-floor, hollow-to-hem, arm circumference, sleeve length, and other measurements. We will provide a complete measurement guide.

Do you offer alterations?

Custom dresses are made according to the measurements provided. Minor alterations may still be needed after receiving the dress, especially because every bride's body shape is unique.

What if I am between standard sizes?

That is not a problem. A custom-made dress can be adjusted according to your individual measurements rather than relying solely on a standard size chart.

Can the dress be made with opaque fabric instead of transparent fabric?

Yes. We can adjust the lining and construction to provide more coverage while maintaining the desired appearance of lace, chiffon, tulle, or other fabrics.

Can I choose the fabric?

Yes. Fabric can be customized according to the desired look and structure. Options may include Mikado, satin, crepe, chiffon, tulle, organza, lace, and other bridal fabrics.

Yes. The design details should be confirmed before production begins so that we have a clear understanding of the final style.

Can changes be made after I place my order?

Some changes may be possible before production reaches a certain stage. Because custom dresses are made specifically for each bride, please contact us as soon as possible if you want to make a change.

Will the finished dress look exactly like my inspiration photos?
